Recently, Sony has announced all the streaming apps that will be bundled with the PlayStation 5 consoles, at launch. P.S: There’s a lot.
Less than a month remains for Sony’s PlayStation 5 release. Recently they have shown us the UI in-depth with all the new features and accessibility options. Furthermore, the trophy system will now contain small rewards such as pictures and banners, etc.
We all know how smooth the PS5 experience will be switching from games and apps using the new Control Centre.
Additionally, in a blog post, PlayStation’s Head of Global Partner Development and Relations Phil Rosenberg has talked about the streaming apps in the PlayStation 5. PlayStation 5 consoles will feature Apple TV, Disney+, Netflix, Spotify, Twitch, and YouTube. Some of the apps will be integrated into the console to provide a seamless user experience, such as controlling Spotify music in the background.
All the apps will be located in a separate Media space. Hence, users won’t have to download each app separately, anymore. Just like how games can easily be switched, Media and Game space will have smooth transitions.
Sony has also revealed a new Media Remote for the PS5. The remote has a minimalistic look similar to PS5. Moreover, the remote will have dedicated buttons for all the popular apps; Disney+, Netflix, Spotify, and YouTube.
Lastly, the blog mentions that more streaming services will be added in the future, which includes Amazon Prime Video, MyCanal, Hulu, Peacock.
