WitcherCon, which takes place next month, is a must-attend for fans of The Witcher. The Witcher-themed convention will include big news for both incarnations of the franchise, as well as a celebration of the video game series and Netflix show. The event, which was documented in a new video posted to Twitter, is a collaboration between video game developers CD PROJEKT RED and Netflix.
To tease fans for The Witcher season 2, Netflix released a teaser focusing on Ciri, and it didn’t take long for the streaming giant to release another, this time focusing on Geralt.
Ciri, played by Freya Allen, was featured in one teaser, while Geralt of Rivia, played by Henry Cavill, was featured in another. Because both teasers were so brief, many fans are hoping for a longer teaser, if not a full-length trailer, in July.
Regrettably for video game lovers, a new Witcher game will not be announced at WitcherCon.
On Twitch and YouTube, WitcherCon will be broadcast live. More information about what to expect can be found on the official website. There will be “deep dives into the making of The Witcher games, live-action series, anime film, and merchandise, including exclusive behind-the-scenes footage,” as well as “interactive panels spotlighting the people who brought The Witcher to life in-game and on screen,” according to the press release.
The Witcher Season 2 is already in post-production, with a release on Netflix planned for later this year. On July 9, WitcherCon will take place. Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date, but fans can expect it in the near future.
